Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology
The humble beginnings of the Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology
can be traced back to a small but dedicated group of doctors and healthcare
personnels. They gathered at the Royal Lake Club on several occasions
in the 1996 to formulate a plan.
These founders drafted the constitution and formed the Malaysian
Society of Allergy and Immunology, which was officially registered on May 5,
1997 to provide better patient care and Quality of Life (QOL) to the sufferers
of allergic diseases and their families.
On December 13, 1998, the President of the European Academy of Allergy and
Clinical Immunology, Prof S. G. O. Johansson, officially launched the Society
and the Society has since been working to get involved globally, to disseminate
information on allergy and to keep abreast at regional and international levels.
About the Website
In accordance with the mission of The Malaysian Society of Allergy and
Immunology to disseminate information on allergy, this 'Allergy Commuity Portal'
has been created to provide patients, their families, the general public and
doctors/specialists with educational information and resources about allergy,
its treatment, news, latest research and much more.
It is the Society's hope that people living with allergy and their
relatives and friends and other interested people will find valuable
disease management tips and tools and other useful information to support
them in their daily lives.
The Society wish to update the website regularly and at the same time
involve the allergy community in Malaysia and therefore encourage you to
contribute and share your stories, news, information and other invaluable
content for the benefit of the rest of the community, and please feel free to
give us your comments and feedback as well.
The Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology hopes that this website is
well received by the allergy community and others and regard it as a welcoming
opportunity for us all to learn more about allergy and about people, who have
close encounters with allergy and we are very much looking forward to serve you better.
